This dialog allows you to specify the color of a map overlay such as the display color and to select an overlay for display on the WebASD View. It also allows you to select which airports to display. Overlays are static graphical objects that define geographic or other useful points and boundaries in the National Airspace System.
Place mouse over the grey circles to find out further information. Click the grey circles to be directed to that information on the page.

Brings up the Color Dialog which allows you to specify the color for the selected overlay. The color of the button reflects the color defined in the Color Dialog.

Causes the currently selected set of overlays to be displayed in the specified manner on the WebASD View and closes the dialog.

Causes the currently selected set of overlays to be displayed in the specified manner on the WebASD View immediately and does not close the dialog.

Restores the overlay selections that were active at the last "Apply" operation and closes the dialog.

Instructions - How to bring up the Overlays Dialog:
- From the Menu Bar, click on View.
- Click on menu item Overlays...
Turn ON an overlay
Instructions - How to turn on an overlay:
- Follow the instructions to bring up the Overlays Dialog.
- Choose an overlay from the Overlay Categories. For the Airport overlay, click on the button to bring up the Airport Selection Dialog.
- Click on the Color Button next to the selected overlay to bring up the Color Dialog to define the color for that overlay.
- Click on the Show Check Button next to the selected overlay.
(Note: Make sure that the check mark appears in the check box.)
- Click on the button to set this overlay now. [ Optional ]
- Repeat Step 2-5 for turning ON each overlay.
- Click on the button.
Note: To cancel the operation, click on the
button. The dialog will restore the application settings to the state before the
button or the
button was last pressed.
Turn OFF an overlay
Instructions - How to turn OFF an overlay:
- Follow the instructions to bring up the Overlays Dialog.
- Choose an overlay from the Overlay Categories.
- Click on the Show Check Button next to the selected overlay.
(Note: Make sure that the check mark is removed from the check box.)
- Click on the button to set this overlay now. [ Optional ]
- Repeat Step 2-4 for turning OFF each overlay.
- Click on the button.
Note: To cancel the operation, click on the
button. The dialog will restore the application settings to the state before the
button or the
button was last pressed.
Turn Range Rings On/Off
Instructions - How to turn On/OFF the Airport or NavAid Range Rings:
You may turn On or OFF the Airport or NavAid Range Rings in either of 2 ways:
- You may either double left-click on the Airport or NavAid icon on the WebASD map to toggle the Range Rings for that Airport or NavAid On of OFF. OR
- You may single right-click on the Airport or NavAid icon on the WebASD map and then select the 'Toggle Range Rings' menu item to toggle the Range Rings for that Airport or NavAid On of OFF.
Show Check Button
- Allows you to specify which overlays to display. Each overlay has its own Show Check Button.

Color Button

Satellite Button
- Allows you to turn on the Satellite Infrared Moisture overlay.
- The Saltellite Overlay may be configured via the Satellite Overlay dialog box.
Airport Button
- Brings up a Selection Dialog which allows you to select a list of airports for display.
- Allows you to select a weather product for display.
Quick Choose
- Allows you to quickly type an overlay item (such as an airport) and the item will automatically be displayed as part of the corresponding overlay.
OK Button
- Causes the currently selected set of overlays to be displayed in the specified manner on the WebASD View and closes the dialog.
Apply Button
- Causes the currently selected set of overlays to be displayed in the specified manner on the WebASD View immediately and does not close the dialog.
Cancel Button
- Restores the overlay selections that were active at the last "Apply" operation and closes the dialog.
